Boomer Generation Will Inspire Creative Entrepreneurs

creativebabyboomer.jpgThose ready to start their own business should be on the lookout for services that capture the interest of the Baby Boomer generation. This group is affluent, and is willing to spend money, rather than time, on services that make their lives easier.

This group has spent their adult lives paying for services so they could have more free time to spend with their families. They have paid for maid service, lawn care, nannies, and car detailing rather than do these things themselves. As they head towards retirement, they intend to spend even more time traveling or on the golf course.

Entrepreneurs who are able to create a niche with an idea that the Boomers will respond to should find themselves with an exciting and successful business. For example, someone willing to run errands could start a concierge service. Those who love to spend time in the mall could provide a personal shopping service. Moving services will help the Boomers downsize as they move from a single family home to a condo. A professional organizer could straighten up the house that the kids have moved out of. A Daily Money Manager takes care of all the monthly bills and paperwork the client doesn’t want to handle.

Anyone with a talent or skill, along with the motivation to be his or her own boss should consider starting a business that will cater to the growing Baby Boomer generation.

Even retirees who want to continue working should consider what services they could offer to help their peers, plus provide an additional income by using the skills they’ve learned during their career. A retired teacher could offer a computer or woodworking class, a florist could offer gardening tips, and a chef could prepare dinners for a special occasion.

A little bit of ingenuity, a desire to help others and the drive to be self-employed is all you need to start your own successful business by offering services to the Boomer generation.
